SmithNovak is an events company creating international conferences. After a lengthy period of running our events very successfully online, we are now ready to start running in-person summits once again in London, Madrid, Athens, Milan and more. As a result, we are looking to re-energize our team with the addition of 1-2 new colleagues, the Business Development Manager being a key contributor to the business in general.
You will build strong relationships with clients all around the globe, selling Sponsorship packages to attend and partner our events.

- You must be able to speak and write a very high level of English.
- A second European language such as Spanish, Italian or Greek would be highly desirable but not essential
Ideally you will have at least 3-5 years of commercial business experience in a Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing or a Recruitment environment whereby you have developed skills and confidence in communicating with external partners.
We are looking for an energetic, positive and confident person with a can-do attitude and great communication skills. To do well, you will need a curious mind and be interested to learn about the specific market in which we operate.
- Have some experience of managing commercial interactions between companies - any evidence of B2B sales or service in an international environment would be very desirable

The successful candidate will be responsible for the production of international conferences including; research, content production, securing speakers, negotiating sales & sponsorship contracts, project and venue management.

- Researching, finding and inviting (by telephone & email) senior level executives to present at our Conferences
- Managing the event project from initial design right through to on-site management and completion
- Designing and managing the programme, writing presentation titles and negotiating with Speakers
- Preparing Speaker and programme information for the Sales team
- Being ‘on stage’ at the event, taking responsibility for all aspects of the conference
- Selling delegate tickets and sponsorship packages to companies by telephone
We are looking for a confident character with excellent organisation and communication skills. Finding, inviting and securing high-level Speakers is not easy and requires drive, perseverance and relationship-building skills.
- Advanced English skills: verbal & written
- A University degree
- at least 5-10 years’ experience in a similar or commercial role involving contact with external customers or suppliers
- experience in event management, recruitment, purchasing or sales would be advantageous
- Excellent research and investigation skills
- Advanced communication & organisation skills
- A confident telephone user: comfortable calling and talking to anyone, anywhere
- Confidence to be on-stage at our events
- Motivated and excited to learn and investigate new topics
- Persuasive, persistent, positive & energetic
- Experienced at commercial negotiations
